Deceased was barring on a rate of coal from the face in the Eight Feet Seam, where the measures had an inclination of 15 inches per yard. He stood against a prop at the face, and was forcing the bar downhill, when the coal suddenly came off at an unseen slip, and deceased, losing his balance, fell forward, the coal at the same time striking him on the head and fracturing his neck.
