Details of Event

He was getting coal at a bored piece which was 9 yards wide and which he had reduced to a thickness of about 2 feet between his working place and an old goaf in which the roof had broken down. A sudden weight caused the roof to fall and he was killed instantly. The place was closely propped hut the roof was intersected by slips and had no lateral support.
