He was run over by full tub. A train of 26 tubs was being pulled up the plane when the coupling between the third and fourth tub broke ant allowed 23 tubs to run back down the incline. This caused the three tubs to be pulled up the plane at a rapid rate, and deceased being in the incline and a few yards away, they fatally struck him.
