- A tram loaded with rubbish, and said to have been spragged in the four wheels, ran down an inclined road of 1 in 7, and struck against Whelan, who was taking a horse and tram up the roadway. The horse escaped with little or no injury, but the haulier sustained a fracture of the spine from which he died on the 11th January, 1910.
