He was ringering down a slab of coal and as it fell it struck a catch prop and knocked it out. This liberated the roof and 2.5 tons of bind fell knocking out three more props and smashing a bar. Deceased was pinned down by the end that fell first and killed. The roof had been bad and deceased had commented that they seemed to be getting stronger roof.
