Details of Event

Deceased was engaged in taking down coal after a coal-cutting machine. The machine men set sprags and a cocker. One of the machine men pointed out two breaks in the coal to deceased, who commenced to remove a small "lip" of roof which was holding the coal. While he was so engaged the coal fell over and his head was crushed. He died from his injuries on September 20th. A cocker had been removed, probably by deceased. Had this been left up the accident could out have happened.
