Details of Event

His duty was to draw the miners' tubs and put them on to a brake incline. As the signal at his level was defective he had stretched out on to the incline, which dips at 64 degrees, to strike the rail with a piece of iron, and so signal to the top or bottom of the incline. While doing so he overbalanced and fell to the bottom of the incline and was killed.
