He was found dead in a shed where the explosives were kept and adjoining a small colliery. The only explanation appears to be that he went to the shed on the evening before he was found for the purpose of preparing a primer for the following day, and when closing the detonator upon the fuse with his teeth, it exploded, and killed him. He was part owner of the colliery.
