Thomas in pulling coal released a false slip from which a large stone weighing about four tons fell and knocked out a post that was placed under it although it was tested twice the thickness of the stone evidently deceived the men, and caused it to sound good. The roof which is strong in this part of the seam was apparently trusted with less timber than elsewhere. 2 killed.
