A shot had been fired in a level for the purpose of bringing down some overhanging side and deceased was engaged with the shot firer in getting down some loose stone from the side, when a large stone measuring 3 feet by 2 feet by 1 foot, fell from the roof and killed him instantly. After the shot was fired the roof was sounded by the shotfirer, by deceased, and by another workman, and they all thought it secure.
