5 July 1927: Fife Pit Fatality – David Spowart, 41, West Park St, Cowdenbeath, was so badly injured yesterday by being caught between pinion wheels of a haulage engine he was attending in the James Pit, Donibristle Colliery, Fife, that he died within a few minutes.
