- His working place becoming uneasy, the sent for the deputy. The deputy set some timber but thought it best to withdraw Smith and his marrow from the place. He invited them to help him to take the full tub out and they were taking it out when the roof above them cracked with a loud report. Smith was evidently very much frightened, for be left the tub and ran down the headways. The deputy and the other man then allowed the tub to run amain. When they followed it outbye, they found Smith beneath it. He had fallen down, and the tub had run on to him. The accident should not have happened but no doubt they were all frightened.
